2024 in film is an overview of events, including award ceremonies, festivals, a list of country- and genre-specific lists of films released, and notable deaths. Columbia Pictures and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer will celebrate their respective 100th anniversaries, Miramax will celebrate its 45th anniversary and 20th Century Animation, DreamWorks Pictures, DreamWorks Animation and Searchlight Pictures will celebrate their 30th anniversaries. The popular Mickey Mouse film, Steamboat Willie, entered the public domain this year.
